CHAPTER 60

The Atlantean library. Years ago, Laney and Jen had found one of the three Atlantean libraries said to have been buried to protect the knowledge for future generations. Even now, she could picture the underground cavern and the alcove filled with metal books containing the knowledge of Atlantis.

The others in the cabin were looking at her curiously, except for Jen. “The library where Nefertiti hid the cipher was hidden in Egypt by the Children of the Law of One,” Laney explained.

David groaned. “Oh you’ve got to be kidding. We don’t have time for that.”

“We don’t need it. Cayce told us exactly where the library is,” her uncle said.

“Where?” David asked with a frown.

“Underneath the left paw of the Sphinx,” Laney said as she flicked a glance at Jen, who nodded back at her. That was one of the locations they had discussed as a possibility. The left paw of the Sphinx had always been rumored to contain a hiding place underneath it. Edgar Cayce even mentioned it, suggesting that one of the libraries of Atlantis had been hidden away there.

“Where are you?” Patrick asked.

“Over the Atlantic. We decided to head out to make sure that we could get there as quickly as possible,” Laney said.

“Good,” Mustafa said as he leaned forward. “I’m going to meet you there.”

Laney wanted to tell him no, that he should stay with the others and keep the others safe, but Mustafa had connections with the Egyptian government that they might need. “Good. We’ll see you in a few hours.”

The call ended.

Laney turned to the others. “Okay, we have a location. Let’s contact Danny and see what kind of satellite imagery he can pick up to let us know what’s going on the ground, and we also need to check in and see if there’s been any movement or sightings of Samyaza.”

It still stuck in her craw that Samyaza had slipped away. The UN crew had found no sign of them, although they were still looking. BOLOs had been put out across Europe, but it was unlikely that any of those would bear fruit. Laney doubted they were still in the area waiting to be picked up.

She couldn’t help but think that if she had been there, things would have ended differently. But Drake was right. She couldn’t be everywhere at once. And while Samyaza might not have been captured, she was going to make sure that this prize didn’t slip through her fingers.
